A play written and directed by the graduates of VCA Theatre Co ‘23.

Six strangers congregate at a desolate petrol station amidst a storm of unprecedented scale and power.

The year is 2038.

How does one reconcile their life and legacy when all there is to do is await the inevitable?

In the setting of the near future, BTEX interrogates the forging of human relationships, response to impending fate and the idea of continued life and presence past one’s death.

Special thanks to Liv Satchell, Kate Sulan and Isabella Vadiveloo for their mentorship throughout the creation of this work.

BTEX was presented as a part of a triple bill titled ‘I’ll Explain it All to you Later’ featuring the graduating works of VCA Theatre Co ‘23. The show was presented at Martin Myer Arena in November 2023.
