An immersive world developed with Polyglot Theatre.
As a part of a two week intensive with Polyglot Theatre Company, VCA Theatre Co ‘23 delved into the world of immersive theatre-making for children. The culmination of this intensive produced The Spider Quest.
The Spider Quest is an interactive adventure show created for children aged 5-12. The audience is invited into a wondrous paper garden and in its corner looms a gigantic papier-mâché spider who is guarding a mound of glorious treasure behind its tangled web. There is only one goal:
Journey through the garden and gather all the tools to defeat the spider and get that treasure!
On this wild journey – guided by ladybug and ant – our audience suit up in leaf armour, fulfil the requests of an old hag and make potions with a bat all in preparation to take down their eight legged foe.

The Spider Quest was presented to an audience of 6-12 year olds in April 2023 at the Victorian College of the Arts.
